Our Mission

Labor Consultants Central, Inc. (LCC) is a consulting firm specializing in assisting in compliance efforts with federal and state labor laws and minimizing payroll costs by the modification of compensation plans and policies. We have assisted employers in labor law compliance efforts since 1961.

Our Consultants

Don Strobel and Karen Clampitt are both former Asst. District Directors, and Tomi Stefanos a former Wage Hour Investigator for the U. S. Dept. of Labor, Wage Hour Division.  Please click on the links on the left for more information about us and our c.v. information.

What We Do

We keep our clients up-to-date with changes in labor laws brought about by legislation or significant court cases and act as a resource to management with our network of experts in practical approaches to compliance with a very inexpensive newsletter/phone service. We conduct training sessions such as workshops or seminars for management personnel, conduct off-site or on-site audits to determine compliance status and evaluate personnel policies and practices to minimize legal exposure from investigations or litigation. We can negotiate with any State and Federal Agency to resolve investigation findings, provide litigation support to your labor attorney as an investigator or an expert witness, or we can refer you to a labor attorney.

  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA):
  • Minimum Wage (generally $7.25/hr currently)
  • Overtime (time and one half after 40 hrs per week for most jobs)
  • Child Labor (under 18 years old)
  • Record keeping requirements (what, how kept)

  • Migrant and Seasonal Workers Protection Act (MSPA) - protections for farm workers
  • Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA) - use of polygraphs
  • Whistle Blower provisions of the Clean Water Act, Energy Reorganization and other Acts.
